Simple translation

Oh one who is eternally residing in the dhivyadhESam named thiruviNNagar! I, who am a servitor, will give a message in a distinguished manner. Instead of letting me explain that elaborately, you should mercifully accept my brief message in your divine heart. I will not say with my mouth about any other dhEvathA than you. I will not believe them to be my refuge with my heart, seeing any special quality in them.

Highlights from vyAkyAnam (Commentary)

vERE … – I am requesting to you in a manner that it is well taken by your divine heart and I get the result, instead of just being a message given in the assembly. As said in SrI rAmAyaNam kishikinthA kANdam 44.1 “viSEshENa thu sugrIvO hanUmathyartham uthavAn” (sugrIva mAhArAjar broached this topic specifically with hanUman). Though all the monkey leaders were sent to all directions, sugrIva mahArAjar specifically looked at thiruvadi (hanUman) and gave the identity details and perumAL’s divine ring. Similar to that.

viriththuraikkum … – My message cannot become like arjuna’s question; it should [quickly] conclude with “bhagavAn uvAcha” (bhagavAn said). It cannot go on elaborately talking about various things as said in SrI bhagavath gIthA 2.47karmaNi EvAdhikAras thE” (Being a mumukshu, you can desire only for the true nithya (daily) naimiththika (perioidic) karmas); you should speak [quickly] for me to say as in SrI bhagavath gIthA 18.73sthithO’smi” (standing firm, with realisation of truth). You should mercifully consider in your divine heart that you don’t mercifully speak to make me elaborately convey my message.

kUREn … – AzhwAr is saying “I am an ananyagathi” (one who has no other refuge) – I will not speak about other dhEvathAs through my mouth; not just that, I won’t consider with my heart that they have some speciality; even if superficially some greatness seems to be present in them, I will not consider that.

unnai allAl thiruviNNagarAnE – You, who are superior to all, have arrived and are present in thiruviNNagar, and announced that you are the refuge. After this, I will not consider those who are your property as supreme.
