AzhwAr spoke that the abode where bhagavAn, who is having the nature of eliminating the enemies of the devotees, has arrived and standing is thirunaRaiyUr. AzhwAr’s heart asked “How can we, who don’t have such devotion and are not submissive, approach him?” AzhwAr responds “A king, who was prideful and not having devotion, just as mArkaNdEya bhagavAn, worshipped another dhEvathA (rudhra) and did not get his desired result; he subsequently went to bhagavAn and got that fulfilled; this king too gave up his pride and surrendered to bhagavAn in thirunaRaiyUr, and got results for this world and the after-life; thus you too surrender untio thirunaRaiyUr” and engages in instructing others. It is famous that thirunaRaiyUr nambi emperumAn gave a sword to sembiyan kOchchOzhan , the king and he got the whole world to remain under his rule.
