Simple translation
sarvESvaran, who is having reddish eyes, is present in the dhivyadhESam named thirunaRaiyUr where brAhmaNas, who are experts in four vEdhams and having speech which is honest to reveal the meaning truthfully, are eternally residing. thirumangai AzhwAr, who is not having even a little bit of untruthful words, is having truthful speech, is the king for the residents of beautiful thirumangai region and is having the divine mouth having such words of complete knowledge, composed these pAsurams which came out due to the joy caused by the experience, on such sarvESvaran. Those who can recite these pAsurams in this famous world, will not be scared on hearing the cruel words of yama’s messengers and if truth is told, they will become most knowledgeable and be desirable for the nithyasUris.
Highlights from vyAkyAnam (Commentary)
semmozhi … – The beautiful abode of thirunaRaiyUr, where brAhmaNas, who speak the truth and who can conduct vEdham, being on vyAsapadham (the position of a great teacher) are dwelling, where the mansions are embellished with gemstones and where sarvESvaran, who is puNdarIkAksha (lotus-eyed), is praised here.
poymmozhi … – AzhwAr who has the words which are as truthful as present in that vEdham.
pula mangai … – thirumangai AzhwAr, is the king of the beautiful thirumangai; his wisdom is revealed in his speech; such AzhwAr’s inbap pAdal – the outlet for AzhwAr;s experience, that is, the pAsurams spoken by him. That,
viyan ulagil pAduvAr … – Those who are in this samsAra, who are different from others who are just eating and roaming around, and are singing these pAsurams, will not be scared to listen to the cruel words of the messengers of yama.
meymmai sollil … – If we are to explain the benefit that they will attain eventually, they will reach paramapadham (SrIvaikuNtam), and as said in thiruvAimozhi 10.9.10 “padhiyinil pAnginil” (in an honourable manner, in their respective abode), nithyasUris will come out and invite such persons who sing these pAsurams into their residence, give them a high seat, remain subservient and wash their divine feet. They will attain such benefit.
