bhagavAn who protects us without caring for himself is present; AzhwAr has the desire; still AzhwAr did not attain the kainkaryam which was desired by him. Because of this he became very sad. He reveals this situation of himself in the mood of a mother who is sorrowful seeing her daughter suffering in separation from bhagavAn and is thinking “I am unable to unite her with her nAyaka (hero); I am unable to make her remain free from sorrow; what will I do?”
