periya thirumozhi >> Sixth centum
AzhwAr requested many times saying “vENdEn manai vAzhkkaiyai viNNagar mEyavanE” in periya thirumozhi 6.1 “vaNduNu naRumalar” padhigam; To make (thiruviNNagar) appan realise that in his divine heart strongly, AzhwAr explained that he got into worldly life and suffered completely and the reasons for that in periya thirumozhi 6.2 “poRuththEn” and prayed “Please eliminate this life which is despised by me and you should make me live under your divine feet which is dear to me; I am surrendering unto you for that”.
sarvESvaran has a particular nature. When an AthmA (sentient being) who has been toiling in samsAra (material world) since time immemorial, becomes detached from it, saying that he does not need any of these materialistic aspects highlighting their defects, surrendering unto him saying that he should eliminate this, bhagavAn will analyse such AthmA thoroughly since due to past impressions the AthmA may still have some attachments in those aspects. Only if they had completely given up attachments, he will deliver them. Hence in AzhwAr’s words in previous decad “poRuththEn“, bhagavAn analysed them individually and asked “Without giving all of these completely, what are you trying to still think about?” AzhwAr says – identifying that whatever is not contradictory to our true nature need not be given up and whatever is contradictory to our true nature should be given up, and informed the urge in attaining paramapadham which is the abode of nithyasUris as said previously in “kula vAnavar tham kOdhA” (Oh one who is the matter of joy for nithyasUris who are part of servant clan!) and concludes the decad. Alternative explanation – In the first pAsuram of periya thirumozhi 6.2 “poRuththEn“, when asked what is your stand on inbam (joy) which is the foremost in “poruL inbam“? AzhwAr is responding in this decad.
