sarvESvaran is having the divine weapons such as the radiantly divine chakra in its pouch and the curved divine conch, in his beautiful divine hands and has approached and is eternally residing in the dhivyadhESam named nandhipura viNNagaram which is having honey in the orchards where clouds are roaming around; thirumangai AzhwAr who can rule over the radiant spear which is having abundance of blood stains, mercifully spoke these ten pAsurams which are a distinguished collection of words in the form of a garland; the cruel sins of those servitors who can learn/recite these pAsurams in the proper manner, will go away completely.

Highlights from vyAkyAnam (Commentary)

naRai sey … – Reaching SrI nandhipura viNNagaram, where the orchards are filled with honey and clouds are roaming around, sarvESvaran is eternally residing there too. After thirumangai AzhwAr took the spear to vanquish enemies, bhagavAn placed his divine chakra in a pouch (since he need not do anything now). AzhwAr praised the one who is having in his beautiful divine hands, the divine weapons starting with the divine chakra which is pouched and which is radiant.

oLi sEr kaRai vaLarum … – There is no scope for thirumangai AzhwAr’s spear to remain in the pouch; there would be no time to remove the blood stain after killing the enemies; these ten pAsurams.

muRaiyil ivai payila vala – Since AzhwAr said “naNNu manamE” (Oh heart! Try to reach) this dhivyadhESam to be the goal, one should learn/recite these pAsurams with the consideration that this abode is our objective. For those servitors who do that, the cruel sins which cannot be exhausted by any other means than experiencing the results, will be eliminated along with the traces.

In the next article we will enjoy the next pAsuram.
