Highlights from vyAkyAnam (Commentary)

kAlaiyum mAlai oRRuNdu … – Even in the daytime, just like the evening, it harms and destroys. Even daytime is harming like evening. The situation is not as said in “kAlai arumbi – mAlai alarum” (sprouts in the morning and blossoms in the evening). In a singular way, it is tormenting. In the night, the nAzhigai (24 minutes period) is extending beyond a kalpa (brahmA’s day) and is having the nature of having movement.

pongu … – The way the northern wind is tormenting, is beyond words; if we try to explain, it looks like batabA mukhAgni.

mAlavan – He is a very great personality. He need not become tired for these.

mA maNi vaNNan – We cannot withdraw from him thinking that he is a great person. He is having such a beautiful form that we have to pursure him compulsorily.

mAyam maRRum uLa – There is no count for the number of harmful objects in his vibhUthi (this material world). There is no count for objects such as anRil bird, southern breeze, sound of the ocean etc

avai vandhidA mun – They set out to torment us. Before they come and destroy us fully.

kOla … – Please carry me and place me in the abode where our species (beautiful peacocks) are present. Please carry me and make me reach the dhivyadhESam named thirukkuRungudi where beautiful peacocks are densely residing.
