Simple translation
sarvESvaran mercifully came and incarnated as childish krishNa to eliminate the shackles from the feet of his father, vasudhEva. While I am being alone in separation from him, my heart went behind such krishNa. I am waiting to get his mercy. The rays of moon which are fresh due to the moon’s nectar, is burning me. Along with that, the soft, southerly breeze entered my bosoms and touched them, and is continuously tormenting me.
Highlights from vyAkyAnam (Commentary)
thandhai … – One who eliminates the shackles caused by others, is not eliminating the shackles caused by him [to me]. Meditating upon the nature of childish krishNa who came and incarnated to make the shackles on SrI vasudhEva’s feet break and fall down, my heart which is alone, in separation from him, thought “Since he comes and helps during dangers, will he not come and help us who are having more love than such father, vasudhEva?” and went behind him.
thiruvaruL avanidaip peRum aLavu irundhEnai – I was waiting for his mercy, when my heart was not helping me, as said in mUnRAm thiruvandhAdhi 19 “aruLAdhozhiyumE” (Will he not shower his mercy?). Not only did I not get the result of his mercy, only enmity resulted.
andhi kAvalan … – Just as the guardian for a town steals, moon, who is the controller of night, his.
amudhuRu pasum kadhir avai suda – If poison torments, we can do remedy using nectar. If nectar torments, there is no remedy for that. The nectarean rays are burning as if fire was thrown at us.
adhanOdu mandha mArudham – That was sufficient for the severity of the torment. Along with that, the southerly breeze, which roams around moderately, has appeared.
vana mulai thadam vandhu – Wherever his hand touches, the breeze entered all those places and touched.
vali seyvadhu ozhiyAdhE – That southerly breeze could think “If we torment her too much, should we not stop at some point” and withdraw due to mercy; instead of doing that, it is continuously tormenting me. Even for rAvaNa’s evil acts, there was a limit. We are not seeing any limit for this breeze’s torments.
