thiruvAimozhip piLLai, in his svApadhESam, says that the one, who was tied down by his mother, is showing appUchchi.

Simple Translation
krishNa kicked a wheel, part of a cart which was drawn by bulls, in which a monster had pervaded. He was desirous of ghee and stole it to consume. He was caught and got tied down by herd-women. Subsequently, he was beaten by yaSOdhAp pirAtti, consort of nandhagOpar, even as he jumped and trembled. The one, who was tied down, is showing appUchchI. Oh, my! He is showing appUchchi.
vyAkhyAnam (Commentary)
sEppUNdu … – just as it has been mentioned in periyAzhwAr thirumozhi 3-1-2 “van bArach chagadam” (the wheel which was strong and heavy), it was a wheel [part of the cart], which was very heavy, drawn by bulls. The wheel was pervaded by Sakatan, a monster, sent by kamsan to kill krishNa. krishNa was crying for milk, kicking his divine feet. The wheel, which came rolling towards him to harm him, got caught between krishNa’s kicking feet. The kick, delivered by krishNa, destroyed the wheel in such a way that it could not even be identified as a wheel.
thiruvAimozhip piLLai says here that yaSOdhAp pirAtti had nurtured krishNa under the wheel, which couldn’t be moved even by strong bulls. It was such an auspicious time when the child [krishNa] was born that anyone, who comes within his proximity, with the intention of harming him, gets destroyed. Thus, since it was its time to go, the wheel too got disfigured completely into pieces. It is not only that it could not be moved easily, the huge wheel, tied to pole, broke into smithereens, when it got caught between the divine feet which krishNa was kicking since there was a delay in feeding him when he was hungry.
thirudi … – desirous of consuming ghee, he went [to others’ houses] to steal it. He was caught by those who had the material [ghee], in the act of stealing.
thiruvAimozhip piLLai says here that many people came and complained to yaSOdhAp pirAtti “Ghee is getting stolen in the village”. She told them “You are blaming this child without any reason. If you indeed find him stealing, as you say, bring him to me, tying the vessel from which he had stolen, to his neck”. With anger she told them “You people too have given birth to children, just like him and are nurturing them”. Hearing her words, they started spying on him, when he went out to steal and consume ghee. Since they are herd-women, without understanding the meaning of yaSOdhAp pirAtti’s words [she was scoffing at them for complaining about such small things], not considering that he is a prince [as the son of vasudhEvar], they brought him to her, with the vessel, from which he had consumed ghee, tied to his neck, telling everyone “We have found out the thief who had stolen ghee”. They brought through the streets, where girls, who were charmed by krishNa, were living. They considered that it was their fortune to have seen him walk through their houses.
nandhan manaivi … – yaSOdhAp pirAtti had earlier told the herd-women “Do not blame my son for stealing. If he had stolen, tie him to the vessel from which he has stolen and bring him to me”. Since they brought krishNa with the vessel from which he had stolen and eaten ghee to yaSOdhAp pirAtti, she hit herself on the head and said “The way nandhan’s consort has given birth to a child and nurtured him is indeed great” [sarcasm]. In their presence, manifesting her anger, she beat him with a rope used for churning curd, even as krishNa was jumping and trembling due to her beating.
thiruvAimozhip piLLai says here – Once the herd-women brought krishNa to yaSOdhAp pirAtti’s house, she took out a rope, used for churning curd, and in their presence said “What a great way that nandhan’s wife [referring to herself] is bringing up this child”, angrily beating krishNa, such that he was jumping and trembling. She tied him such that they could see, telling him “Until your father [nandhagOpar] comes, stay like this, without quivering”.
anRu … – apart from beating him, she tied him such that he couldn’t move anywhere. Such a person, who was tied down, is showing appUchchi. The short syllable in words such as sOppuNdu, AppuNdu etc have got transformed to the long syllables sOppUNdu, AppUNdu etc.
thiruvAimozhip piLLai says here that the one, who was tied down like this, on that day, instead of remaining there, is showing appUchchi here. AppUN – to be tied down.
