As said in periya thirumozhi 5.5.8 “maRavAdhE eppozhudhum mAyavanE! mAdhavanE! enginRaLAl” (Without forgetting, she is saying “Oh amazing person! Oh lord of SrI mahAlakshmi!”), thirumangai AzhwAr [in the pathos of parakAla nAyaki] repeated the divine names of emperumAn herself and also heard from her mother repeating the same, and got attachment towards his divine names in this manner; the divine names of bhagavAn help in sustaining one’s existence; hence he regained his consciousness and sustained himself. After he sustained himself, bhagavAn indicated to him – Why are you suffering like this? While I have paramapadham as my divine abode, I have descended here and am remaining easily approachable here. Isn’t this done specifically for you? He then showed his simplicity in his incarnations and mentioned “Unlike occasionally as in incarnations, I am present in the temples here just for you. More than such common presence, I am specifically here in SrIrangam for you. You have also reaped the result of my presence here. You have also been able to place all your burdens on me thinking that I will take of everything for you, through your surrender. So, why are you sorrowful now?” Hearing these words, AzhwAr became joyful and speaks about the gains he attained and feels satisfied.
An example is shown to explain this – When perumAL (SrI rAma) was getting ready to go to the forest in exile, SrI kausalyA told him “I, who only have you as my son, cannot remain without you” and started along; at that time perumAL looked at her face and told her “Oh mother! Whatever you are saying is against righteousness. While the husband is present, it is inapt to leave him and follow the child. Hence, you give up this thought”. Hearing that, she performed mangaLASAsanams (wishing him well) and returned. AzhwAr acted similarly on hearing bhagavAn’s words.
