Simple translation
Wearing black gemstones, the dark bulls which are having blackish hump, are embracing whitish young cows; the bell hanging low in the sAsnA (flesh hanging down in the neck region) is moving and making sound, and causing my heart to break; as this happens, being unable to sleep, I am suffering, without sleep speaking about the most merciful emperumAn’s who is held as the best gemstone on the head of the nithyasUris. Please carry me and make me reach the dhivyadhESam named thirukkuRungudi where the water is pushing out very precious gemstones in its surroundings.
Highlights from vyAkyAnam (Commentary)
karumaNi … – The complexion of the blackish gemstone comes into my thought [reminding his complexion] and torments me.
veN nAgaNaindhu – Uniting with the cows which only know suffering; as she withdraws due to her femininity etc, he pursued her – the cows and the bulls remind that. The bell which is hanging down from the neck region of the bull which is having blackish hump. There is no other harmful entity which is a match for this bell’s sound. That bell’s sound, unlike other entities, enters through the ears and torments. Everything else has slept. As it pushes the heart which is so tender that those who touch it will be blamed, throughout the night I suffered due to lack of sleep.
peru maNi … – The one who is placed as the ornament for the head by nithyasUris who are said in thiruvAimozhi 1.1.1 “ayarvaRum amarargaL adhipadhi” (the lord of nithyasUris).
pEraruLALan perumai pEsi – I speak about his glories as the bell’s sound pushes my heart, I remain sleepless throughout the night; if it is recited as pEsa (to speak) – then the meaning is – To be spoken by people in both sides “Look at this bhagavAn’s quality! Look at how this parakAla nAyaki suffers in his separation!”.
guru maNi … – Please carry me and place me in the dhivyadhESam named thirukkuRungudi which is having surroundings where water will push very precious gemstones.
