Simple Translation
SrI villibuththUr has fields where reddish paddy crops have grown tall, bowing their heads like the heads of horses [drooping at the top, like the horse’s head]. periyAzhwAr is the controller of such SrI villibuththUr. He is also the controller of vEdhams and shining with SrIvaishNavaSrI. He has mercifully composed ten pAsurams about those who had seen and spoken about the identifications of the divine form of krishNa, matching monsoon clouds and who has amazing qualities and activities. Those who are capable of reciting these ten pAsurams, which are garlands of words, will get to attain the divine feet of one who is supreme.
vyAkhyAnam (Commentary)
kariya mugil purai mEni mAyanai – Having the form of monsoon clouds [dark], and having amazing qualities and activities.
thiruvAimozhip piLLai says, in his svApadhESam, that, that will be invigorating to the beholders, just like the monsoon cloud.
kaNda suvadu uraiththu – to those who say “We have to certainly see him”, mentioning the identifications. It was periyAzhwAr himself who stood in the state of those who were desirous of seeing emperumAn and who stood in the state of those who had seen emperumAn and were informing the identifications.
thiruvAimozhip piLLai says here that for those who search out for him firmly, pointing out to those who have seen him, and who mention the identifications [to see him]. More than seeing him, it is more appropriate to see those who have seen him.
puravi – being the controller of SrI villibuththUr, which has fields where reddish paddy crops have grown tall, with the top portion drooping down, due to the weight of paddy, like the bent head of a horse. Just as it has been mentioned in thiruvAimozhi 3.7.1 “paramanaip payilum thiru udaiyAr” (those who have the wealth of being together with him, to be eternally engaged with him), periyAzhwAr has deep affection towards emperumAn and the wealth of servitude, which is the outlet for that affection. These ten pAsurams, which are like a garland of words, mercifully composed by periyAzhwAr, who is the controller of vEdhams [since he practices the ultimate benefit enunciated by vEdhams [carrying out servitude], he is the controller of vEdhams].
thiruvAimozhip piLLai says here that periyAzhwAr has vEdhams, which overflow with servitude to be carried out to emperumAn, as his lifeline. He also mercifully mentioned the ultimate benefit, which is mentioned by vEdhams [carrying out servitude to emperumAn] to the best among brAhmaNas, becoming a benefactor for them. Those who have eminent minds and consider taking refuge under his affection as their ultimate benefit …
paravum … – those who are his followers, who, impelled by the devotion towards him, speak in irregular manner about their love towards him
paraman adi sErvargaLE – They will get to attain the divine feet of the supreme entity and to enjoy him every day, without having the need to search out for him.
thiruvAimozhip piLLai says here that they will get to attain that abode, where there will be no need for searching out for him [viz. SrI vaikuNtam]. Alternatively, in this samsAram itself where they have been searching out for him, just like being given water by distinguished, righteous people, when feeling thirst, they will get to see emperumAn by those who show his identifications.
We shall next consider the pravESam of the next thirumozhi.
