Highlights from vyAkyAnam (Commentary)

kAn Ar kari … – As said in thiruchchandha viruththam 52 “poRRai uRRa muRRal yAnai” (Elephant which reached the forest and grew there) – the elephant grew without being familiar with humans; oh wild elephant who broke the tusk of such elephant! A wild elephant broke another elephant’s tusk.

nAnA vagai … – thirunAngUr which is firmly inhabited by those who are having distinguished goodness in birth, conduct, knowledge and valour.

thEn Ar … – Oh elephant of thiruveLLak kuLam which is surrounded by gardens which are filled with beetles! AzhwAr is calling emperumAn as elephant, since he attracts everyone who goes and comes, and since he does not see the faults of those who approach him. Kindly shower your mercy towards me, the servitor.
