Highlights from vyAkyAnam (Commentary)

indhu … – sarvESvaran created brahmA on the huge lotus flower in his divine navel which is filled with beauty; brahmA in turn created rudhran who is having lengthy matted hair which has the moon in it. Such sarvESvaran joyfully resides with pleasure in vaN purudOththamam in thirunAngUr, considering that this universe is created by brahmA who was created by him, for its protection.

kundhi … – As the plantain trees are well ripened to touch the ground; the female monkey thinking “these are easily reachable for us” will come close; still the fruits will be unreachable for it; hence, the monkey would stretch itself in a crouching position and pluck the beautiful fruits and eat it. Further, it would embrace its younger one, set out to eat the mangoes, will sleep on the mango tree branches due to the contact of its younger one and for digesting the food which was eaten.
