Highlights from vyAkyAnam (Commentary)

vangamA munnIr – In the vast ocean which is having boats. Boats are shown as decoration for ocean.

vari … – sarvAdhikan (greater than all) is mercifully reclining firmly on thiruvananthAzhwAn (AdhiSEshan) who is having many stripes and complexion, having the vastness to let pirAtti and emperumAn enjoy as they please, having qualities such as softness, coolness, fragrance etc, due to the wonderful nature of the mattress; such emperumAn is having SrI pAnchajanyam in his beautiful, divine hand, having the lotus flower which is the origin for the universe, in his divine navel, and having rejuvenating divine form which will cool down the eyes of those who see him.

angam … – Having familiarity in SIkshA etc, five great yagyas, four types of vEdhams, ithihAsa etc which clearly show the meaning of vEdham, those who have hands which nurture and raise the three types of fires like a nursing mother will care for her baby; they have such firm mind which never loses faith in “We are performing a karma; but that is not going to protect us; only sarvESvaran is the protector”. thirukkaNNangudi is inhabited by such vaidhikas.
