Simple translation
krishNa, who kept the whitish SrI pAnchajanyam and blew it to bewilder the kings who have cruel strength and valourous anklets and are able to conduct elephants which have pus oozing out of their heads, in their great war, has not come. The southerly breeze is fetching the subtle collection of water which is known as “mist” and which are caused by the whitish waves coming from the agitated ocean. This mist feels like fire and is blown on my youthful bosom. Only if it withdraws, could I preserve my life.
Highlights from vyAkyAnam (Commentary)
kayam koL … – The kings are able to control as they wish, the elephants which are always exultant and are hence poked by the mahout with the hook ,causing wounds which are constantly letting out pus. They [the kings] are very strong and are having valourous anklets. To have them bewilder in the battle, krishNa placed the SrI pAnchajanyam on his divine lips and blew it as said in SrI bhagavath gIthA 1.19 “sa gOshO dhArtharAshtrANAm …” (The sound of the conches blown together that filled the sky and the entire earth, broke the hearts of the sons of dhrutharAshtra) and destroyed the enemies. Such krishNa is not coming; he, who is the protector, has not helped me in this dire situation; I can remain alive only if the entity which harms, withdraws.
maRi kadal … – In the agitated ocean, the waves are swaying and coming on the water. That causes the subtle mist to form and appears like fire. Fetching that, the southerly breeze blows that on my bosom which cannot tolerate the separation.
vilangil – If the breeze thinks at some point that “This is harming a woman. Should I do it?” and withdraws… Our state is such that the one who causes harm should become the protector. sIthAp pirAtti said “rAvaNa! Can’t you unite me with perumAL?” Only then, I will be alive.
