Simple translation
krishNa went for the sake of pancha pANdavas to mahAbhAratha war to have the kings such as dhuryOdhana et al who were conducting the kingdom by their strength, killed; his heart became softened seeing paANdavas and he conducted a chariot and showered his sweet mercy on them; he is such a benefactor. He protects the SrIrangam which is having the divine kAviri which is filled with fresh water; he rules over me; he also controls paramapadham; he reached lankA which is surrounded by ocean to torment it and launched his arrows. He is having cool lotus-like eyes. My heart will not have any humility towards anyone other than him.
Highlights from vyAkyAnam (Commentary)
urangaLAl … – Instead of conducting the kingdom with their righteousness, kings such as dhuryOdana et al are conducting with their strength being possessed by demoniac thought. To kill such kings in mahAbhAratha war, he placed this single chariot as the opposing force for the enemies. In this manner, for the sake of pANdavas, he troubled himself.
irangi – Showing mercy towards them thinking “Alas! They lost their father in their young age; they suffered in the wax-palace; they were tormented in water etc”, he conducted the chariot for them and showed his mercy as if it is his own benefit, instead of helping them as per their request. The benefactor whose favours towards his devotees are boundless.
vambAr … – One who is having SrIrangam which has the divine kAviri which has perennial flow of water, under his control.
en ALi – My controller.
viN ALi – One who owns nithya vibhUthi (paramapadham).
Azhi sUzh ilangai malangach chenRu – For anyone other than sarvESvaran who is puNdarIkAksha (lotus-eyed) and who went to lankA which is well fortified by the ocean and launched arrows to make seven persons wear one person’s clothes, in there.
en manam thAzhndhu nillAdhE – My heart will not have humility for anyone other than the one who became the charioteer for his devotees and who favours them by accepting arrows on his divine body.
