Simple Translation

Oh, conch! You eat the nectar from the divine mouth of emperumAn who measured all the worlds. You sleep on the divine hand of that emperumAn, who has the complexion of ocean. Since this is the way that you eat and sleep, all the womenfolk are protesting loudly, in matters related to you. You are carrying out unreasonable acts.

vyAkyAnam (Commentary)

uNbadhu sollil ulagaLandhAn …… kaiththaththE – wealthy people in the world would be only eating and sleeping. You too are eating the most distinguished food which is the nectar from the divine mouth of one who measured the worlds and sleeping on his divine hand, which is softer than lotus flower. This is how distinguished are your eating and sleeping activities.

vAyamudham kaiththalaththE – your wealth is such that even after partaking of your food, there will still be plenty left on hand. The wealth, which is common to all followers of emperumAn’s, is the kingdom of donning his divine feet on the head. Your wealth is not common, like that. It is the wealth of eating the nectar from emperumAn’s divine mouth which is exclusive to his consorts. You eat, as emperumAn feeds you, glance at his divine form which removes the ennui and recline on his divine hand. You are like the devotees who eat to their heart’s content, the most enjoyable, divine foods which are available in temples, don the garland given in the evening and rest in the small rooms in the temple, in comfort.

peN padaiyAr un mEl perum pUsal sARRuginRAr – All those born as women, for whom that nectar and the divine form would be the sustenance, are blaming you.

peN padaiyAr – the implied meaning is that all the women in thiruvAyppAdi (SrI gOkulam) and all the women in mathurA, have joined together as a huge army and are blaming you.

paNbu ala seyginRAy – you are indulging in unreasonable act which is not at all well-mannered. The act which you are indulging in, is not one which the most devoted followers of emperumAn, who engage with matters related to emperumAn and who desire more interaction with other devotees of emperumAn, would do. Those who are close to emperumAn would not enjoy anything for only self, but enjoy along with other followers.

pAnchasanniyamE – this act appears to be appropriate for you, who had been born from a monster. She finds fault with pAnchajanyam since both her father, periyAzhwAr, who had said as in thiruppallANdu 3vAzhAtpattu ninRIr uLLeerEl ”, and she herself, who had said in thiruppAvai 1pOdhuvIr pOdhuminO”, have only enjoyed emperumAn along with other followers of emperumAn.

Next, we will consider the 9th pAsuram of this decad.
