An emperumAn who is having vast reddish divine eyes and blackish divine form, has entered here and said “I will never separate from you” to cause my body to become thin and my bangles to slip down. After saying that manmatha who is having five arrows showed his ability on me – this was not known to me. Please carry me and place me in thirukkuRungudi which is having areas surrounded by cool, rejuvenating branches from.where the honey is flowing.
Highlights from vyAkyAnam (Commentary)
sengaN nediya … – If the eyes and body were placed in a measuring scale, the beauty of the eyes will be overwhelming. The mercy inside his heart is shown through the divine eyes. There is no limit for his glance.
kariya mEni – Even if one escapes the coolness of his eyes, the coolness of his divine form is not escapable.
dhEvar – Even if the beauty of his eyes and form can be spoken fully, his supremacy is beyond speech.
oruvar – It is not just the species, but such supremacy is seen only in that entity (SrIman nArAyaNa).
ingE pugundhu – If the physical beauty and supremacy are overflowing, it will be apt for us to go towards him. Just as him having such qualities, he is also having the qualities of simplicity. Always, those who attain him, attain him by bhagavAn’s efforts instead of them trying to attain him.
en … – She is not thinking about the union, after his arrival. She is still wounded by the words uttered by him and that remains stuck in her heart.
angam meliya vaLai kazhala – He told one thing. As he spoke about the separation, all of them [bangles] left on their own.
AdhukolO – By saying “I won’t separate” he made her understand the separation. thinking that she will understand by the statement with a negation; she cannot even utter those words with her mouth and hence just saying “AdhukolO“.
aingaNai – He indicated about the separation; kAman (manmatha) started raining arrows. Disregarding the fact that she is “vIrapathni” (the wife of a valourous person), he started tormenting her. He should have known that emperumAn has abandoned her.
kongalar … – Please carry me and place me in the abode where the arrow in his hand will sustain us. As soon as the union with him happens, plucking flowers and playing in the water, will sustain me.
