Simple translation
thirukkaNNapuram is permeated with the fragrance of lotus flowers which was triggered by the ploughing in the vast, fertile fields having the tip of seedlings and puddling by the feet; it is the abode of our lord who is having divine feet which measured the earth and are present to be worshipped by all, and who is having the vast mountain-like divine chest which is embraced by periya pirAttiyAr.
Highlights from vyAkyAnam (Commentary)
padi … – “padi” is earth; there is a pair of divine feet which touched it. The divine feet which measured the vast earth. As said in SrI vishNu dharmam mAngalyasthavam “sangais surANAm” (group of celestial entities), to have everyone worship those divine feet, in whatever situation they were; malar vaigu kodi – periya pirAttiyAr. One who is having the divine chest which appears like a huge mountain and is eagerly embraced by such periya pirAttiyAr.
mudi … – Bringing the plough and using it everywhere in the vast field where the seedlings are present to be planted.
adi sela – The labourers will puddle the field with their feet once. At that time, the lotus flower which escaped being ploughed, will start releasing its fragrance.
