Simple translation

Oh noble mind! You remain without worrying; sins will not come towards us; as SrI rAma, bhagavAn previously showed his anger to make the fire with flames, consume lankA which is in the southern direction and is the abode of rAkshasas who were not reforming; once, he showed his mercy on bANAsuran who had abundant shoulders; he is the beloved lord of nappinnaip pirAtti; he killed the elephant named kuvalayApeedam which was having blackish feet in the front portion; let us worship thirukkaNNapuram which is such lord’s abode.

Highlights from vyAkyAnam (Commentary)

varundhAdhiru nI – Instead of thinking about the past activities “What will we do?” and worrying, try to remain fearless.

mada nenjE – Oh humble mind! Oh mind which is seeing only you, and not seeing bhagavAn’s greatness!

When asked “After accumulating so many sins, how can we remain without worries?” AzhwAr says

nam mEl vinaigaL vArA – Can they come close to us saying “Weren’t these done by us?”? mudhal thiruvandhAdhi 64nayavEn piRar poruLai naLLEn kIzhArOdu uyavEn uyarndhavarOdu allAl viyavEn thirumAlai alladhu dheyvam enRu EththEn varumARu en enmEl vinai” (I will not desire the AthmA, which is the possession of distinguished emperumAn, as mine; I will not move closely with samsAris (dwellers of materialistic realm who think that AthmAs are their own); I will not speak to anyone other than SrIvaishNavas (who are servitors of emperumAn); I will not respect as deity anyone other than SrI mahAlakshmi’s consort; how will sins come on me?). mUnRAm thiruvandhAdhi 27ArE thuyaruzhandhAr thunbuRRAr ANdaiyAr
kArE malindha karum kadalai nErE kadaindhAnaik kAraNanai neeraNaimEl paLLi adaindhAnai nALum adaindhu” (After attaining the one who stood in the forefront and churned the dark ocean which is full of clouds, one who is the cause for all the worlds and one who is reclining on thiruppARkadal (on AdhiSEshan), who suffered even for one day? Where are those who experienced sorrow (like that)?). These pAsurams should be recited to understand the meaning shown here.

When asked “Where did we see him pursue on his own and eliminate the sins?” AzhwAr says,

mun … – Did pirAtti put in any effort to eliminate her hurdles? As strong as the hurdles, his nature is such that, he will ensure that they are eliminated. The lankA, which is the abode of rAkshasas, who would not listen to the advice of mAlyavAn et al.

sem thI uNNa – Due to the fear towards rAvaNa, the fire would be pale, roaming around only to facilitate cooking of food; to make such fire become blazing and consume.

sivandhu – showed his anger.

perum thOL vANaRku aruL purindhu – Severing the thousand shoulders of bANan who was prideful that he had many shoulders, still bhagavAn left two shoulders for him to remain, so that he can conduct his life. He is the beloved lord of nappinnaip pirAtti and he effortlessly killed kuvalayApeedam which has strong feet which are blackish in the front portion. Such krishNa’s divine abode.
