Simple translation

Being in the form of tortoise, half human and half lion, swan, the fire sacrifices done by brAhmaNas, time, chakravarthith thirumangan (SrI rAma, son of emperor dhaSaratha) who severed the heads and shoulders of rAvaNa, the king of lankA which is surrounded by the fort which is a protection and is surrounded by the salty ocean, thirukkaNNapuram is the abode which is desirously inhabited by krishNa who previously gave birth to cupid. Let us worship this divine abode.

Highlights from vyAkyAnam (Commentary)

Amai … – He is of the nature that when he has to protect his devotees, he will not care about himself and protect them.

AmaiyAgi – Being in the form of kUrmam.

ariyAgi – Being hayagrIva [head of horse and torso of human]; also said to be narasimha.

annamAgi … – Being in the form of hamsa to redeem the vEdha chakshus (vEdham, the eyes which let us see the truth). He is the one who accepts the havis offered by brAhmaNas in yagyas. Being the time where only time remains. He is the one who is present when no one else is present.

uvari … – Being surrounded by the salty ocean which is having high tides, lankA, which is having forts which cannot be penetrated by anyone, is having rAvaNa as the controller. SrI rAma killed such rAvaNa playfully by severing his heads and shoulders.

mun … – krishNa, who is the father of kAman who torments the world with his beauty, desirously resides in this abode. When recited as “ulagu”, it implies the world which is surrounded by huge ocean.
