Simple translation
bhagavAn is having the fame of always mercifully remaining in my heart without leaving even for a moment; he is mercifully present in thirumAlirunjOlai mountain which is having well-grown orchard which is having kOngu trees’ flowers which are blossomed and desirable like gold; he is enjoyable like sweet, sugar candy; he is the sweet essence secreted by sugarcane; he is the paNditha who desirously learnt the four vEdhams, previously in krishNAvathAram; he is the best one, mercifully reclining on kshIrAbdhi. Other than the one who is easily approachable for me, I will not sing anyone else.
Highlights from vyAkyAnam (Commentary)
ettanai … – Even if I desire to go towards others seeing some greatness in them, my speech will not cooperate with that.
One who has acquired fame due to not leaving my heart even for a fraction of a moment; he is thinking to be a greater fame than pirAtti remaining on his chest saying as in thiruvAimozhi 6.10.10 “agalagillEn iRaiyum” (I cannot leave even for a fraction of a second). Always, even a fraction of a moment, he will not leave.
thattu alarththa … – kOngu trees’ flowers which are blossoming and like gold; alternative explanation – blossomed to have the petals well expanded and like gold. One who remains on thirumalai (thirumAlirunjOlai mountain) which is having well grown orchards which have kOngu trees having such flowers.
kattiyai … – Unlike the sugar candies which are created by hand-pressing which implies that it loses its freshness, being the fresh essence of such sugarcane.
kAdhalAl … – Just as someone who had never learnt vEdham will learn eagerly, the paNditha who eagerly learnt four vEdhams from sAndhIpani. I will not sing anyone else other than such bhagavAn who is mercifully reclining on thiruppARkadal as the origin for krishNAvathAram (and other avathArams).
