Simple translation

empeurmAn, as SrI rAma, when rAvaNa crossed his limits, built the bridge on the ocean with rising waves to fill it, by placing the peaks of mountain to reach the other shore; holding on to the weapons, to destroy lankA which is having beautiful forts which are tall to reach up to the moon, caused tumult in the battle and severed rAvaNa’s ten heads which are decorated with large, radiant crowns, with brahmAsthram determining the right time to kill him and became mercifully seated in SrI ayOdhyA; the abode for our lord who is having divine complexion like that of a dark cloud, is thirunIrmalai, the best hill.

Highlights from vyAkyAnam (Commentary)

mAlum kadal – The ocean which is mad due to abundance of water; implying the ocean with rising waves.

Ar – Built the dam by breaking the peaks of mountains which will drown in the ocean, and placing them there.

varamburuva – To have them reach the other shore.

madhi … – To have lankA which is surrounded by beautiful forts which reach up to the moon, destroyed, by holding on to the weapons and causing tumult in the battle. That is – building a bridge on the ocean, coming with the army, violating the forts, and after severely defeating rAvaNa on the previous day and sending him home, SrI rAma thought “Let the evil rAvaNa atone for his mistakes and come back”, and even after doing all of this, rAvaNa came fighting again; at that time SrI rAma thought “if we continued this play any further, dhEvathAs will become very scared” and launched the brahmAsthram and severed the ten radiant, great heads.

amarum neela mugil vaNNan – The completeness in his divine form after vanquishing rAvaNa is explained here. One who has a rejuvenating form which resembles a cloud which is dark in colour.

emakku iRaiyavaRku – One who made me exclusively exist for him by showing the beauty of his divine form.
