Highlights from vyAkyAnam (Commentary)

vavvith thuzhAy adhan mEl senRa thani nenjam – While the nAyakan (hero, bhagavAn) leaves her, her mind held on to one side of one of his thuLasi garlands which were on his shoulder and went behind him. Her mind considered his closeness and went behind him, abandoning her.

sevvi aRiyAdhu niRkungol – Is the mind thinking “Is parakAla nAyaki thinking that only if my person [mind] returns here [and informs his rejection of me] could I finish myself?”?

niRkungol – Will it stand there?

niththilangaL … – I desired nicely [to fail] as in periya thirumozhi 9.3.7 “viravi muththam nedu veNmaNal mEl koNdu veN thirai puraviyennap pudham seydhu vandhundhu pullANiyE” (thiruppullANi is the abode of such emperumAn, where the ocean is having whitish waves which look like a horse, which are hopping and pushing pearls which are mixed with more whitish sand which were brought up; worship such thiruppullANi and be uplifted).

dheyvach chilaiyARku en sindhai nOy seppuminE – You inform my mental worries to the one who held on to a bow to eliminate the mental worries of one woman [sIthAp pirAtti].

en sindhai nOy – parakAla nAyaki is not as patient enough as sIthAp pirAtti who waited for bhagavAn to come and rescue her.

In the next article we will enjoy the next pAsuram.
