He is my lord, who eliminated the very young moon’s waning. How can I forget such lord? Oh my ignorant mind! Please tell me this.
Highlights from vyAkyAnam (Commentary)
peRRAr peRRu ozhindhAr – Father et al due to being blinded by lust, procreate and then considering that child to be an obstacle for their youth, will abandon the child. Then, he cannot live without the relatives, due to past impressions [of seeing relatives supporting a person]; at that time, bhagavAn will come through them [parents et al] and show his face [will protect]. For me, who has the stage of life where I have to expect his help, he will remain as all kinds of relatives and protect me.
en uyirAgi ninRAnai – Even if the mother and father abandon a person, one will desire to live. For me, who is such a chEthana (sentient), he remained as the caring person and protected me.
muRRA … – When the very young moon had waning problem, he eliminated that waning and protected it. He manifested that act to me and enslaved me.
eththAl yAn maRakkEn – Will I forget him because his favour was limited? [No, his favour was unlimited] Will I forget him because there is another protector apart from him? [No]
idhu sol en Ezhai nenjE – You, who are thinking of forgetting him considering that in samsAram there are both pursuable and abandonable aspects, should tell me.
