Simple Translation
krishNa tells yaSOdhAp pirAtti “Catching hold of my hand, after asking me to come, if you forcefully apply the ear-rings in my ears and it hurts me, is there any loss for you? My ears will get hurt; hence, I will not come”. She tells him “Oh, one who is complete! I have brought and kept blue berries, which you like. Look at them. Earlier, you had killed the deceptive fiend by consuming milk from her bosom such that she died. You had jumped on the monster who had pervaded a wheel in such a manner that he broke into smithereens. Oh, dhAmOdhara! You should come here”
vyAkhyAnam (Commentary)
vA …– When yaSOdhAppirAtti called him “Oh, paRpanAbhA, come here!” [as in the previous pAsuram],
vA enRu solli en kaiyaip pidiththu – [krishNa tells her] “you would call me to come near you and if I come near, you will catch hold of my hand firmly
valiyavE kAdhil kadippai nOvaththirukkil unakku ingu izhukkuRRen – If you forcefully apply the ear rings by twisting them in my ears, is there any loss for you?
kAdhugaL nondhidum killEn – My ears will get hurt. I will not come”.
thiruvAimozhip piLLai says, in his svApadhESam, that krishNa tells her that these are your words. My ears will hurt. I will not come.
nAval pazham koNdu vaiththEn ivai ANAy nambI – For you to come, I have kept blue berries, which you desire. Look at these. Seeing them, krishNa stood as if he was inclined to come
thiruvAimozhip piLLai says here that yaSOdhAp pirAtti tells krishNa that she has brought blue berries for both him and for nappinnaip pirAtti [who was to become his consort in later years]. nambI – one who has become complete, by not having any expectation!
mun … – Earlier, hiding her fiendish form, pUthanA had come deceptively in the form of your mother. You consumed her milk such that her life ebbed out. When SakatAsuran [a monster] came pervading a wheel to harm you, you kicked him such that he was broken to smithereens. You protected yourself such that you did not fall in their hands. When you had such strength, you allowed to be caught by me at my hands as if you were powerless, and allowed me to tie you with a rope. Aren’t you the one who had the simplicity to be tied down by me and attained the name of dhAmOdhara [one who has the marks of a rope on your stomach]! Come here.
thiruvAimozhip piLLai says here that by killing pUthanA and SakatAsuran, krishNa established his quality of supremacy and by remaining with the marks of the rope on his stomach, he established his quality of simplicity.
