Simple translation

bhagavAn stopped the hailstorm with gOvardhana hill. He mercifully showered his grace on SrI gajEndhram which has a pedigree, to be not killed at that time. He is strong in battle. In that krishNAvathAram, he mercifully consumed the cow’s fresh ghee, having desire in his heart. I, who am a servitor, got to see the one who has thiruvazhundhUr as his abode,and became complete.

Highlights from vyAkyAnam (Commentary)

kunRAl mAri thaduththavanai – bhagavAn protecting the world when indhran, who was appointed as the protector became the one who caused harm, is explained. As indhran caused the rain due to being affected by hunger, bhagavAn took up the gOvardhana hill which can stop it.

kula vEzham … – Being born with a pedigree, being intoxicated, due to its strength, the elephant was roaming around. Without realising the danger ahead, it entered the pond and was caught. Stopping it from getting killed, bhagavAn showed his unconditional grace towards it.

pOr ERRai – One who is like a male tiger and who can understand the plight of the elephant and protect it.

anRu Avin naRu ney amarndhuNNa aNi azhundhUr ninRAnai … – During krishNAvathAram, he mercifully consumed the cow’s ghee and then stood in thiruvazhundhUr. He is standing in thiruvazhundhUr just as he stood in SrI gOkulam.

adiyEn … – Having seen him with my eyes, I, who was incomplete, became complete.
