May you go to sleep. Oh, one who has lotus-like divine eyes! May you go to sleep.

vyAkhyAnam (Commentary)

en thambirAnAr ezhil thirumArvarkkuezhil – beauty; the term en thambirAnAr indicates that AzhwAr had lost out to krishNa’s divine chest.

chandham … – one who has divine feet which are like reddish and blossomed lotus flower. thiruvAimozhip piLLai, in his svApadhESam, says that emperumAn’s divine feet are like fresh lotus, apt for the overall beauty of his divine limbs.

indhiran … – indhran, who gains prominence as the lord of three worlds, came and proffered a beautiful anklet, stood at a distance which was neither near nor far, manifesting his humility. May you go to sleep. thiruvAimozhip piLLai says here that the anklet was beautiful and making a [harmonious] noise.

thamarai … – Oh, one who has divine eyes which are like lotus flower, and with which you shower your mercy on those who carry out servitude to you! May you go to sleep.
