Simple translation
bhagavAn came and incarnated as paraSurAmAzhwAn, controlled the axe with matchless edge, to sever the bodies of the crowned kings for 21 generations; his shoulders are decorated with garlands; he is eternally residing in thirunaRaiyUr which has vast surroundings where the cool and beautiful jasmine flowers look like the teeth of the women of that town, are blossoming, the pAnal flowers look like their eyes and the glorious lotus flowers look like their faces. Such emperumAn is our refuge. This implies that the women’s teeth etc shine like the different flowers.
Highlights from vyAkyAnam (Commentary)
muniyAy … – Incarnating as a rishi who vowed to be compassionate. Even for such compassionate persons, the violence [killing the evil persons] which is ordained, cannot be abandoned.
mU ezhu kAl … – Conducted the axe, which has distinguished edge, to kill 21 generations of [evil] kings.
thArAr thOLAn … – One who is decorated with a distinguished garland for the protection of the world.
vAr puRavil … – In the vast surroundings. Beautiful jasmine matches the teeth of the women there, pAnal which is a kind of karuneydhal flower, matches the eyes of the women there.
nani sEr vayaluL muththalaikkum … – [Different recital] In the vast field which resembles ocean, the pearls are moving here and there. Alternatively, if it is recited as kamalam mugam kAttum, the lotus flower matches the faces of the women there, where the face is the abode for the teeth and eyes.
