Simple translation
Oh one who is the controller of four vEdhams which are learnt/recited and who has created brahmA, rudhra and indhra who are primary amongst dhEvathAs as your SarIram! Having analysed the sorrowful sequences of death, birth etc and having no taste in them, I have surrendered unto your highness’ divine feet. Oh one who ruled me (even in the past)! Oh one who is eternally residing in the dhivyadhESam named thiruviNNagar! If you can bestow the unconditional grace to have me worship you, please do so. I don’t desire to be present in this samsAram.
Highlights from vyAkyAnam (Commentary)
sAdhal … – Sufferings during death, sufferings acquired while experiencing punishments in hell, the sufferings acquired while being in the womb as explained in panchAgni vidhyA – thinking about these, instead of desiring for birth etc, I have surrendered unto your highness’ divine feet which will eliminate these. When asked “Are there takers for these sufferings?”, yes. While SAsthrams declare “One should eliminate the undesirable birth etc by surrendering unto bhagavAn”, since many are not following that, those are considered to be supporting such sufferings in the worldly life.
Odhal … – Since vEdham is always learnt and recited, you are having faultless vEdhams as your wealth and oh one who is having brahmA, rudhra and indhra who are primary among dhEvathAs and are well qualified, as your servitors through SarIra-Athma bhAvam [bhagavAn is AthmA and the dhEvathAs are his SarIram].
ANdAy … – You don’t need to give me such qualification and tie my feet.
vENdEn … – I have no taste in their powers.
