Simple Translation

nUpura gangai, in thirumAlirunjOlai, is flowing abundantly, pushing logs of sandalwood and a type of eagle wood, going past the banks. Those who are capable of reciting these ten pAsurams, mercifully and beautifully composed by ANdAL, who has beetles swarming her locks, regarding azhagar who has mercifully taken residence in thirumAlirunjOlai, will get to attain the divine feet of SrIman nArAyaNan.

vyAkyAnam (Commentary)

sandhodu … silambARu – just as women take wealth from their place of birth to the place of husband, silambARu, which was born in the mountain, is pushing logs of sandalwood and a type of eaglewood [used for making incense] to thirumAlirunjOlai, the divine abode of emperumAn, overflowing the banks on either side, and increasing in its volume.

thadangaL porudhu – this river is coming like a rutting elephant which is piercing the banks with its tusks.

silambARudai – just like virajai river for paramapadham, this river is for thirumAlirunjOlai.

mALirunjOlai ninRa sundharanai – she sang about the most beautiful azhagar, who has taken residence in the most beautiful thirumAlirunjOlai. Who sang these pAaurams?

surumbAr kuzhaR kOdhai – AndAL, who has beetles swarming her locks. ANdAL, who is capable of winning over the beauty of thirumAlirunjOlai and that of azhagar, with her one limb [of her locks], had to strive like this.

thoguththuraiththa – just like stringing a garland with many types of gemstones, stringing a pAmAlai (an encomium in poetical form) of azhagar’s auspicious qualities

paththum vallAr – those who are capable of reciting these ten pAsurams with their meanings

thirumAladi sErvargaLE – she suffered since she could not carry out servitude to the union of perumAL and pirAtti, which she had desired. However, those who are capable of reciting these pAsurams will not suffer like she did, but will attain the benefit which she desired.

adi sErvar – they will attain the parama purushArtham [ultimate benefit] of kainkaryam [servitude]. Did she desire servitude? varAha purANam says “aham SishyA cha dhAsI cha bhakthA cha purushOththama l” (Oh, the best among all entities! I am your disciple, servant and devotee). Just as it has been mentioned in this, when she was bhUmip pirAtti, did not varAha purANam say that she had desired to carry out servitude, by being emperumAn’s servant? aham SishyA cha – I had learnt all the matter which I had to learn, from you directly. dhAsI cha – when you and periya pirAttiyAr are together, and tell me “Take such and such material; keep such and such material etc”, I am duty bound to carry out those orders. bhakthA cha – I am going to compose poems by being born in the clan of AzhwArs who are your devotees. Could the same entity exhibit different forms, separately? purushOththama – You are the most supreme among all entities. Wouldn’t your devotees engage to the extent to which you make them to get engaged? Even when a river flows through various channels and sub-canals, the quantum of water which reaches the ocean will be without any shortcoming. In the same way, despite enjoying emperumAn as his disciple, servant and devotee, for bhUmip pirAtti, love will not only not diminish, but it will grow to be bigger than ocean.

Next, we will consider the pravESam of the tenth decad.
