Simple translation
thiruvazhundhUr is having the wealth of brAhmaNas who are engaged in learning/reciting vEdhams and are densely residing in the beautiful mandapams, palaces, homes and streets which are very beautiful due to being surrounded by orchards where honey is continuously flowing. emperumAn, who is the lord of nithyasUris and is joyfully residing in such dhivyadhESam, came and incarnated in the form of a vAmana [dwarf] to eliminate the sorrows of the dhEvathas. He begged for three steps from such mahAbali and took over all the seven worlds under his divine feet. He is having the victorious, unique and primary weapon, sudharSana chakram. Behold that same bhagavAn, who is mercifully present in thiruvazhundhUr.
Highlights from vyAkyAnam (Commentary)
vAnavar tham thuyar thIra – bhagavAn came and incarnated for the sake of dhEvathAs who would say “I am ISvara” immediately after getting help from bhagavAn, instead of those who are totally surrendered to him and who remain knowing nothing but him and remain as said in thiruppaLLiyezhuchchi 10 “thodai oththa thuLavamum kUdaiyum polindhu thOnRiya” (manifesting the shining shoulders which carry the flower-basket that contains properly prepared thiruththuzhAy (thuLasi) garlands).
mAN uruvAy – Having a form which reflects expertise in begging as in “If I don’t get by begging from him, I will not survive”, thinking that he does not have three steps of land, thinking that mahAbali is the one who is having that, bhagavAn accepted through pouring of water from mahAbali’s hand and grew to have the seven worlds under his divine feet.
venRith thani mudhal chakkarap padai – Having thiruvAzhi (divine chakra) which is victorious, unique and the primary among all the weapons as the tool, he is my lord. As said in SrIvishNu purANam 5.5.17 “thrivikrama: kramAkrAntha thrailOkyas spurathAyudha:” (the weapons rose when emperumAn set out to measure the worlds), he is the one who is having divine weapons. “jitham bhagavathA jagath” (bhagavAn won over the universe).
thEn amarum pozhil thazhuvum ezhil koL vIdhi – The streets which are surrounded by orchards where honey is continuously flowing.
sezhu mAdam … – Beautiful mansions, palaces, homes, halls and other spacious places – everywhere.
Ana thol sIr … – Having the wealth due to the dense population of brAhmaNas who are abundantly endowed with knowledge and in turn humility and ancient fame. thiruvazhundhUr is their dhivyadhESam.
