Simple Translation

[krishNa tells yaSOdhAp pirAtti] There is no need for you to say “It is all my fault”. Have you not looked inside my mouth to check for traces of sand, thinking that I have eaten sand, and shown that to all the people? yaSOdhAp pirAtti tells him “Oh, one who became complete after getting that which you had desired when you went as a bachelor with the form of a dwarf, carrying garuda, who is the enemy of snake hiding inside a strong anthill, as your flag! The holes in your ears will get blocked. Oh, one who removes the distress endured by your followers! Let me speak only the truth, after applying the cotton thread to your ears”

vyAkhyAnam (Commentary)

en kuRRam … – krishNa tells yaSOdhAp pirAtti “The reason for your telling dejectedly that it is your fault is because you feel that I am not doing that which you want me to do and that it is my fault. There is no need for you to say also ‘It is my fault’” When yaSOdhAp pirAtti asks him “Whose fault is it then?” krishNa tells her “Is it not your fault?” yaSOdhAp pirAtti asks him, in turn “What did I do to you?”

ennai nAn maN uNdEnAga – When I had not eaten sand, you had thought that I had eaten sand.

anbuRRu nOkki – looking at my mouth and hands in a friendly manner, to see if there were traces of sand.

adiththum pidiththum anaivarkkum kAttiRRilaiyE – did you not catch hold of me, as if you had seen trace of sand, not stopping with that, beat me too, and show to everyone “All of you, look at the way that he has eaten sand”?

van puRRu aravin pagaikkodi vAmana nambI – snake hides inside a strong anthill, fearing that if it goes out, it will be harmed. Having garuda, who is the enemy of such snakes, as the flag, oh, vAmana nambI, who measured and seized lands in a cruel manner and became prominent! Through this, it is implied that since emperumAn is the one who has AdhiSEshan as his mattress and garuda as his flag, he is capable of uniting entities which cannot be united anywhere else in the world and after carrying out unjustifiable acts, he would justify such acts too.

un kAdhugaL thUrum – [yaSOdhAp pirAtti tells him] if we keep debating like this, with each saying something and the other, saying something else, wasting time, your ears would get blocked, you would see that.

thunbuRRana ellAm thIrppAy piurAnE – when yaSOdhAp pirAtti tells krishNa “Oh, one who is the benefactor who removes all the sufferings of your followers!” krishNa repartees “There is no need for you to praise me like this. You say one true word ‘Hereafter I will not catch you or beat you like before’ such that I will agree to have the cotton thread inserted in my ear”.

thiruvAimozhip piLLai says, in his svApadhESam, that it is only when krishNa allows yaSOdhAp pirAtti to insert the cotton thread in his ears would all her suffering get eliminated. She tells him “It is only if you allow me to insert the thread would I speak with you, who are presently without the completeness of your good qualities. Isn’t it only then that my suffering would get eliminated?”

thiri ittuch chollugEn meyyE – she tells him that she would speak only the truth after inserting the cotton thread.
