Simple translation
Oh, one who is greater than all! Oh, the complete one who is mercifully reclining on the ocean which is like a fort around the earth! Oh, lord who is mercifully residing in the western side of thiruvazhundhUr! I am remaining in this leelA vibhUthi meditating only on you; five senses, which are strong and having youthfulness, have entered me and have imprisoned me; I have escaped that imprisonment and have entered beneath your divine feet considering to remain there. You should mercifully grant me your divine feet which are like clothes and food for me, and I, who have natural servitude, should be engaged in serving you eternally.
Highlights from vyAkyAnam (Commentary)
nediyAnE – Oh, supreme lord who is greater than all!
kadi Ar kali nambi – Fragrant, fort-like Ar kali that is ocean; oh, complete one who is mercifully reclining there!
ninnaiyE ninaindhiruppEnai … – I, who am having the meditation of those who are remaining in paramapadham; meditating upon you from here in this samsAram itself. The five senses which are youthful to torment others continuously, have imprisoned me.
akkAvalaip pizhaiththuk kudi pOndhu unnadik kIzh vandhu pugundhEn – As said in SrI rAmAyaNam yudhdha kANdam SlOkam 17-16 “sO’ham parushithasthEna dhAsavachchAvamAnitha: l thyakthvA puthrAmScha dhArAmScha rAghavam SaraNam gatha: ll” (I, who am like that, have been rudely treated by rAvaNa, being treated like a servant; I have left behind my wife and children, and am taking refuge under rAghava), I escaped those senses, and surrendered unto your divine feet.
kURai sORu ivai thandhu enakku aruLi – Granting these divine feet which are like clothes and food. As said in periyAzhwAr thirumozhi 5.1.5 “thOttam illavaL” (Garden, wife etc) and thiruvAimozhi 6.7.1 “ellAm kaNNan” (Everything is krishNa), AzhwAr is thinking these divine feet are his clothes and food.
adiyEnaip paNi ANdu koL endhAy – You, who are my apt lord, should engage me in eternal servitude instead of letting me become like a prince who lost the throne.
azhundhUr … – Just as you presented yourself in the seashore to be approached by SrI vibhIshaNAzhwAn, your highness have arrived and presented yourself here in this dhivyadhESam, to help me surrender unto you when my relatives abandon me.
