bhagavAn has made me fully focussed on performing eternal service to him and has become joyful. He is the amazing one who can reign over buUmip pirAtti’s bosoms. He is remaining firm in the beautiful thiruvazhundhUr where the ancient four vEdhams are resounding like an ocean filled with waves, in every street. He is the meaning of the words which are present in SAsthrams. I got to see him and became joyful.

Highlights from vyAkyAnam (Commentary)

nilaiyALAga ennai ugandhAnai – Instead of my accepting something from him and leaving as said in “dhEhi mE dhadhAmi thE” (I offer you something, you grant me something back), he made me engage in eternal service due to his loving desire towards me. Eternal service is possible to attain only if he desires to grant us and that cannot be attained by thapas (penance) and samAdhi (deep meditation).

nila magaL … – He is the amazing lord who can place a horse for an elephant, for SrI bhUmip pirAttiyAr’s divine bosoms. [Placing a horse for an elephant means – to train an elephant in running efficiently, in the olden days, they will make a horse run in front of it and trying to make the elephant catch the horse. Everytime the elephant gets closer to the horse, the horse will run faster. Similarly, bhagavAn is so amazing that he can make bhUmip pirAtti’s divine bosoms which are most enjoyable, long for him]

mudhu nAnmaRai – mudhu nAl maRai means the vEdham which is beginningless. In every street, the chanting of vEdam is heard like an ocean with agitated waves. Firmly remaining in such beautiful thiruvazhundhUr.

kalaiyAr soRporuLai – Having seen bhagavAn who is shown as the goal by all the SAsthrams, all my desires got fulfilled and hence I became blissful.
