Simple translation

bhagavAn is remaining firmly and eternally residing in the beautiful thiruvazhundhUr where those who are like subrahmaNya in strength, are residing. He is the basis for all dharma (righteous acts). On such bhagavAn, thirumangai AzhwAr, who is the lord of those who are residing in thiruvAli, which is an ornament for this samsAra, who is wielding the weapon named spear which is long and having the blood stain of the enemies, mercifully composed these ten pAsurams which are divine words. Those who are able to recite these pAsurams, without violating the rules, will get to protect the paramapadham in a complete manner.

Highlights from vyAkyAnam (Commentary)

thiRal murugan … – In strength, the residents of thiruvazhundhUr are not any lesser than subrahmaNya who is the commander-in-chief of the army of dhEvathAs.

aRu mudhalvanavan avanai – One who is the root cause for dharma. Protecting own citizens, protecting the world of AthmAs, protecting the devotees – one who is the root cause for all of these righteous acts.

aNiyAliyar … – The one who is the controller for the residents of thiruvAli which is like an ornament for the samsAram.

maruvAr … – thirumangai AzhwAr who is having the lengthy spear which is stained with blood due to lack of time for washing it after killing the enemies, in his hands, mercifully sang these ten pAsurams with tune. Those who can recite these pAsurams in sequence, will have the whole thripAdh vibhUthi (paramapadham) under their control as said in  thiruvAimozhi 10.9.10 “AnmingaL vAnagam” (rule over SrI vaikuNtam).

In the next article we will enjoy the next pAsuram.
