Simple translation
The great conches arrived everywhere to fill the saltpans, remained in rows and subsequently climbed up and filled the streets and yielded pearls, giving propserity to thirunaRaiyUr. SrI rAma launched his fire like arrows to sever and fell the huge heads of the strong rAvaNAsura who was having a very bad reputation. Oh heart! Try to surrender unto his divine feet which match each other.
Highlights from vyAkyAnam (Commentary)
kazhi Arum … – The conches from the ocean will enter the saltpans to fill them, seeking pure water from the salt water of the ocean.
kana sangam kalandhengum niRaindhERi – Just as everyone will gather here in aippasi uthsavam [In SrIrangam, in aippasi (thulA) mAsam, an annual brahmOthsavam was celebrated. That was discontinued subsequently], the conches due to being in pain from pregnancy, will arrive in a gathering and remain in rows.
vazhiyAra muththInRu – The righteous people who envisioned and built the town, created small lanes and big streets; these conches will yield mountain of pearls enroute to limit movement of others.
pazhiyArum … – To scatter the heads of rAvaNa, who has acquired a bad reputation due to not observing that sIthAp pirAtti is mother, roamed around independently due to his muscle strength. thirunaRaiyUr is the abode of SrI rAma, who, instead of tormenting the enemies with arrows, would torment them with arrows which are like fire.
