Simple translation

krishNa conducted arjunan’s chariot to have the kings who came for battle in a crowd, with the weapon, spear, killed. He remained as the lord of the cowherds, due to lifting of gOvardhan mountain which was within his reach, as an umbrella. He is having sharp thiruvAzhi (chakra) as the weapon. Such bhagavAn is eternally residing in thirunaRaiyUr where brAhmaNas, who are always capable of conducting four vEdhams, pancha mahA yagyams, six ancillary subjects of vEdham such as SIkshA and saptha svarams, are eternally residing. Such nambi is our refuge.

Highlights from vyAkyAnam (Commentary)

midaiyA vandha … – All the evil kings/persons gathered in dhuryOdhana’s side. To make the earth tremble, the kings came in a huge crowd with weapons. To have them killed, krishNa conducted the chariot to accomplish the task instead of taking up arms. To stop the hail sent by indhra, krishNa lifted up the gOvardhan mountain which was within his reach, and kept it as an umbrella to stop the rain. While lifting the mountain, he did it effortlessly.

Ayar kO … – He remained as the lord of the cowherds and cows, to be crowned by indhra in gOvindha pattAbhishEkam.

kUr Azhip padaiyAn – Even while having the sharp chakra in his hand, he lifted the mountain. krishNa thought “[Instead of killing him] if we keep him hungry and torment him, he will realise his mistake and stop the hail. Until then, let me take care of my people/cows”.

vEdha nAngu … – The abode where brAhmaNas who can conduct all of these, are residing. To protect themselves, they are capable of protecting him with their knowledge and conduct.
