Oh, chandhran! Even if your radiance swirls around in all the four directions and pervades everywhere, you will not match the divine face of my son. One, who is amazing and has mercifully taken residence in thiruvEngadam is calling you. Come fast, running, such that his divine hand does not pain.
vyAkhyAnam (Commentary)
suRRum … – even if the region, which has splendour, swirls on all the sides, without any reduction in its intensity, and without any blemish, pervades everywhere… thiruvAimozhip piLLai says here that even if chandhran travels at a height, in the sky
en magan … – you will not be a match in any way for the splendour and perfectly circular face of my son. thiruvAimozhip piLLai says here that chandhran will not match the coolness and cheerfulness on krishNa’s face.
viththagan … – being amazing in his beauty and auspicious qualities, disregarding proud entities such as you, respecting forests and monkeys just as it has been mentioned in nAnmugan thiruvandhAdhi 47 “kAnamum vAnaramum…” (desiring forests and monkeys…), he resides mercifully in thiruvEngadam. Oh, ambulee! Come running, fast, such that the hand which is beckoning you, does not pain. thiruvAimozhip piLLai says here that viththagan refers to krishNa’s capability and being the reason for everything. For the term vEngadavANan he says that he is the easily approachable entity who has taken residence in thirumalai. He further says that giving respect to forest and monkeys, and disregarding you [referring to chandhran], krishNa is not speaking anything. Even after such an entity calls you, you are not coming.
We shall next consider the 4th pAsuram of this thirumozhi.
