Simple translation
krishNa consumed the vital air by suckling the bosom of pUthanA, the monster who was having huge mouth and cruel heart; he fought the battle to kill kuvalayApeedam, the elephant which was present in the entrance; the abode of such krishNa is the dhivyadhESam named thirunaRaiyUr where the swans drank the honey from the karu neydhal flowers which are having blossomed mouth and are sleeping in the flowers of the lotus plant having blossomed mouth.
Highlights from vyAkyAnam (Commentary)
pagu vAy … – Having a huge mouth matching her huge form, having cruel heart to not have compassion even after nearing him, pUthanA’s bosom was suckled by krishNa and through that he destroyed her vital air.
puguvAy … – kamsa made kuvalayApeedam to stand at the entrance with the plan of getting krishNa killed through that and subsequently pretending that it happened by mistake and crying for that; but krishNa, the brave one, fought it to make it fall down as a mountain breaks down. The abode of such krishNa.
negu vAy … – After drinking the honey from the neydhal flower, the swan will treat the well-blossomed lotus flower as its bed, go there and sleep in it.
