Simple translation
rudhran who was holding brahmA’s skull filled with flesh, in his hand, and was roaming around all the worlds; [he went to SrIman nArAyaNa in kshIrAbdhi or badharIkASramam] and requested “you should remove this lowly curse from me”; the one who gave the beautiful sweat [to eliminate the curse] is present in the dhivyadhESam named thenthiruppEr which is having orchards filled with beetles, surrounded by dense fertile fields. How amazing is it that I praised the divine names of the lord of nithyasUIris and the way I got uplifted!
Highlights from vyAkyAnam (Commentary)
Unamar … – Holding the flesh filled skull, just as the one who ruled over a town ended up roaming around with shackles, rudhra roamed around the world where he was well respected, seeking remedy; he went to bhagavAn and surrendered unto his divine feet saying “You should eliminate this lowly curse which is causing me disaster”; bhagavAn gave the sweat from his divine chest [and eliminated his curse].
thEn … – In thenthiruppEr which is having dense fertile lands which are surrounded by orchards filled with beetles.
vAnavar … – Just as a person will drink milk [a desirable material, unlike a bitter medicine] and get rid of his disease, how amazing is it to recite the divine name of the leader of nithyasUris and be uplifted! Even if this divine name causes destruction, we cannot abandon it.
