Simple translation
sarvESvaran consumed seven oceans filled with boats, seven anchoring mountains, sky and beautifully spacious, vast earth during deluge and spat them out during creation; being my lord, he is in the dhivyadhESam named thiruppEr which is having dense orchards which are reaching up to the cloud region and moon’s orbit; he is having love towards us, devotees. How amazing is it that I recited his divine names and the way I got uplifted!
Highlights from vyAkyAnam (Commentary)
vangam … – Boats are said as decorations for ocean. [emperumAn] Consumed the seven oceans which are filled with boats, the mountains which are like anchors for earth, the sky which gives space to all of these, and further, the vast earth which is like a fence for these, during the danger of deluge and placing them in his stomach, and subsequently spat them to see the outside world thinking “They cannot remain inside for too long and become weak”. This is similar to those who swallow their wealth (precious gems) and subsequently spit it out to see them, and enjoy them.
thingaL … – In thenthiruppEr which is having dense orchards which are tall to reach the abode of moon and clouds.
engaL mAl iRaivan nAmam Eththi nAn uyndha ARE – One who is having great love towards devotees like us, and one who cannot be abandoned due to his relationship with us, even if he does not love us. Praising such sarvESvaran’s divine name.
nAn uyndha ARE – As said in thaiththirIya upanishath “asannEva” (As good as asath/achith only), I, who was like achith, became uplifted! How amazing!
