Simple translation

sarvESvaran, in the past, during SrI rAmAvathAram, as distinguished chakravarthith thirumagan (divine son of chakravathi, dhaSaratha), accompanied by his brother iLaiya perumAL (lakshmaNa) and his beloved sIthAp pirAtti who would help him, roamed around in the forest which was very hot and was blowing fire. Such joyful emperumAn who is complete in all auspicious qualities, is eternally residing in the dhiyadhESam having the divine name, nandhipura viNNagaram where the cuckoos jumped from the branches making noise to make the peacocks dance in the beautiful surroundings. Oh heart! Try to reach there.

Highlights from vyAkyAnam (Commentary)

thambi … – He who is distinguished for tender nature roamed around in the hot forest where fire was blowing, along with his younger brother.

What is his hold there?

than thuNaivi … – Since he went with sIthAp pirAtti, he did not feel the heat of the forest. As said in periya thirumadal “thunnu veyil veRuththa vembaralmEl panjadiyAl” (With the tender feet on the rocks/stones which were roasted by sun), this is how it felt for her. The rocks will in turn roast the sun (after having been roasted by the sun first); on them, panjadiyAl – With the lotus feet which will get burnt even if they stepped on a flower. mannan irAman pin – SrIrAma is her water and shade for such hot earth.

vembi eri kAnagam ulAvumavar – The one who roamed in the forest where the ground keeps itself as firewood and is burning.

The abode where he is residing along with pirAtti is,

kombu … – The cuckoos jumped from the branches and made noise just like mukthAthmAs will sing sAma gAnam, the peacocks danced and in this manner, there are beautiful surroundings in the dhivyadhESam, nandhipura viNNagaram.

nambi uRaiginRa nagar – The abode where bhagavAn, who is complete in all auspicious qualities, is residing.
