Highlights from vyAkyAnam (Commentary)

OdAdha … – Assumed the narasimha form which is not usually seen in this world, with the firm, divine nails which will not bend even while operating on the hard body of hiraNyan.

piLandhu aLaindha mAladhu idam – Not just satisfied after killing him, as said in periyAzhwAr thirumozhi 4.1.1 “udhiram aLaindha kaiyOdirundhAnai” (one who remained with the blood-soaked hand), due to the anger on the one [hiraNyan] who showed anger on the child [prahlAdhAzhwAn], he stirred the body of hiraNyan. The abode of emperumAn with such love towards prahlAdhAzhwAn.

EdERu … – The wealth of the brAhmaNas in this dhivyadhESam cannot just be seen and left, but should be written on a book and seen as in SrIrAmAyaNam. [2nd meaning] ERugai – going. Edu – defect. Great wealth which has no defect. [3rd meaning] Alternatively – the wealth which will go over the book – i.e., the book will get destroyed [being unable to hold the greatness].
