Simple translation
For me, who is immersed in this cruel hell which has no shortcomings (i.e., samsAra which is very cruel) and is trembling, he is capable of saying “Don’t fear” and make this servitor to be a servant. Oh mind! You are not thinking even for a fraction of a moment, about such lord who is mercifully present in thiruvAli, which is surrounded by mansions reaching up to the cloud and is present along with fertile fields.
Highlights from vyAkyAnam (Commentary)
enjA … – In yama’s naraka, when he orders punishment, the yama’s servitors will calculate the sins and make the sinner go through the sufferings for some time, will give a gap and then resume again; unlike that, since the sin for a person to exist in samsAram has no limit, it will never let the person rest and will keep tormenting. For me, who is immersed in samsAram which has no shortcoming [in tormenting others], saying “I am here, you don’t fear”.
adiyEnai AtkoLLa vallAnai – Like placing a crown on the son of a king [making me a servitor].
nenjE nI ninaiyAdhu iRaippOdhum iruththi kaNdAy – Aren’t you the gate for the inlet/outlet of knowledge? Shouldn’t you induce me saying “You think about him”? You are not thinking about him even for a fraction of a second.
manju Ar … – Are you not thinking about him since he has made himself difficult to think of? He is our lord who is present in thiruvAli which is having fertile fields and surrounded by mansions which reach up, to the clouds.
