Oh, dragonfly which is present on a pole! Don’t roam around in all the abundant flowers which are present in the surroundings of the fertile fields which are having abundance of water and the blue coloured flowers in the fertile fields themselves. emperumAn, who is mercifully present in thirukkaNNapuram, is death personified for rAkshasas who are having the weapon, sword. Bringing the fragrance of the beautiful, fragrant thiruththuzhAy which is present on the shining divine crown of such emperumAn, blow it on me.

Highlights from vyAkyAnam (Commentary)

neela … – The blue coloured flowers which were grown in the fertile fields which have abundant water. All of the flowers which are present in the surroundings of that fertile field.

UdhAdhE – Don’t roam around even for insignificant benefit. There is scope for doubt only making one think “If there are flowers, would there not be honey?”

vALarkkar kAlan – bhagavAn is death personified for the armed rAkshasas. You should bring the fragrance from the beautiful thiruththuzhAy on the shining divine crown of the sarvESvaran who has arrived in thirukkaNNapuyram, and blow it on me.
