Simple translation
sarvESvaran is mercifully residing in thirukkaNNapuram where the clear waters bring pearls and collect them in the outside places of the punnai tree’s dark shadow, where the tree is having flowers which have beetles settling on them. Such bhagavAn swallowed the eight directions, luminous objects such as the rising sun, vast earth and vast sky, and spat those out. For such sarvESvaran, I lost my shining bangle.
Highlights from vyAkyAnam (Commentary)
vaNdu amarum … – In the dark shadow of the punnai tree which is having flowers which have beetles settled on them, there is one place which is outside and one place which is under shade; of them, in the outside places, the clear waters bring pearls and collect them.
eNdisaiyum … – The eight directions, the seven oceans; when it is recited as “ezhu sudarum“, AzhwAr was thinking about the rising sun etc. The vast earth and the vast ether which gives space to everything, were placed inside his stomach during deluge and then spat out by sarvESvaran. For such sarvESvaran, I lost my shining bangle. I believed his Apathsakathvam (being a friend in need) and lost – says parakAla nAyaki.
