Simple translation
My daughter, parakAla nAyaki is saying “He is the great personality having the greatness due to having thousand divine names; he is wearing SrI makara kuNdalam (earring) which is made of precious gemstones filled with beauty; he is having eight divine shoulders; he is resembling a dark cloud filled with water and a vast dark mountain”; did she see to the satisfaction of her eyes and worship the lord, SaurirAjan who is mercifully present in thirukkaNNapuram which is surrounded by crops which are filled with darkness [i.e. ready for harvest].
Highlights from vyAkyAnam (Commentary)
pEr Ayiram … – One who is having thousand divine names which explain his qualities and leelAs [divine activities].
pErALan – As said in mahAbhAratham “dhEvO nAma sahasravAn” (The shining emperumAn who has thousand names), thiruvAimozhi 9.3.1 “pEr Ayiram koNdadhOr pIdudaiyan – nArAyaNan” (nArAyaNan is the one who is having the greatness of having thousand names) and mudhal thiruvandhAdhi 8 “nAmam pala solli nArAyanA enRu” (reciting many divine names [of emperumAn] and the divine name nArAyaNa which is his most important name), as said in “pAl pasu udaiyavan” (one who has milking cow), he is having the greatness of having thousand divine names as said in periya thirumozhi 10.8.4 “nAmam palavum udai nAraNan” (one who has many divine names).
pErALan – Greatness got added to great personality. She is saying “Because these divine names belonged to him, they became shining”. Alternatively – pErALan reflects his true nature – further, his qualities became inconceivable due to those divine names etc.
Alternatively,
pErALan pErALan – She is saying “Great personality! Great personality!”.
ErAr … – She is speaking about the true nature of bhagavAn who is indicated by these divine names. She is reminded of his beauty which she enjoyed previously. She says “Being the one who is having divine makara kuNdalams which are made of very beautiful precious gemstones, and one who is having eight shoulders where they [the earrings] are swaying and touching”.
eN thOLan – Just as he held the five divine weapons while having four shoulders only, just as he churned the ocean with four shoulders which appeared as thousand shoulders for him, she is saying that he has eight shoulders while he only has four shoulders.
nIrAr mazhai mugil … – The simile needs to be well decorated to explain bhagavAn’s divine form so that it is comparable to some extent. She is saying that he is having a divine form which resembles a cloud which has absorbed water fully and a dark mountain. It indicates both aspects – rejuvenating, inconceivable.
kArAr vayal … – Since there are well-matured crops everywhere, the fertile field is dark. Just as mukthAthmAs will always remain aged twenty five years, and matching the colour of bhagavAn who is residing inside the town, the town is as said in periya thirumozhi 10.1.1 “karunel sUzh kaNNamangaiyuL kANdumE” (Seen in thirukkaNNamangai which is surrounded by dark crops). In this manner, the fields are always dark and ready for harvest.
kaNNapuram … – Looks like she has seen his divine form.
