Simple translation
The dhivyadhESam named thiruvazhundhUr where swarms of beetles which are searching for prey by pecking with the beak on the kurukkaththi (mAdhavi) tree which is filled with branches, are reaching the hairs of women who are having eyes which are like an arrow which torments (dear ones) and have five qualities (like fragrance, honey, softness, density and darkness). Strong chakravarthith thirumagan (son of emperor dhaSaratha) made the ten heads of rAvaNa, who is the lord of the beautiful lankA which is surrounded beautiful reddish gold like forts, as the target for his brahmAsthram, severed and made them fall on the ground. Such SrI rAma’s abode is eternally desirable as in the case of paramapadham.
Highlights from vyAkyAnam (Commentary)
sembon … – The ten heads of rAvaNa, who was proud thinking “We are in a fortified town. Aren’t we the leader of this town?” were knocked down using brahmAsthram by the strong chakravarthith thirumagan. Such SrI rAma’s abode, thiruvazhundhUr, is as desirable as paramapadham. He severed the evil rAvaNa’s heads, which were unable to be destroyed by the vajrAyudham etc of indhra et al, just with his strength as a human,
kombil Arndha … – On the kurukkaththi (mAdhavi) tree which has abundant branches.
kOdhi mEyndha vaNdinangaL – With its strength, the beetles pecked the sprouts and flowers, and consumed the honey from them.
They thought “We should go to some place else which is darker than those sprouts and flowers, and rest there in the night” and
ambarAvum … – They will reach the hair of women who are having eyes which will weaken (defeat) arrows [in sharpness] and are having noble qualities. aimbAl – five qualities of hairs.
